The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: 40th Anniversary

the-texas-chain-saw-massacreGreat, now I have to buy another version of The Texas Chanisaw Massacre… Nice new cover art too.

Dark Sky Films has released the art from the various editions of the September 16 release of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: 40th Anniversary, newly remastered in 4K

Directed by Tobe Hooper, the film is “A tale of five 20-somethings whose free-spirited road trip becomes a terrifying descent into madness. When they find themselves isolated in a rural Texas community, they fall into the clutches of a monstrous clan of Texas cannibals and find themselves being whittled away by the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface.

Marilyn Burns, Allen Danziger, Paul A. Partain, William Vail, Teri McMinn and Edwin Neal star.

It has been called grisly, sick, and perverse, as well as raw, unshakeable, and the movie that redefined horror. It was attacked by churches, banned by governments, and acclaimed by only the bravest of critics. It stunned audiences worldwide and set a new standard in movie terror forever. Today writer-producer-director Tobe Hooper s dark, visionary tale remains unparalleled in its impact as perhaps the most frightening motion picture ever made.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this beloved horror classic, MPI Media Group presents the original restored film in an all-new 4k scan authorized by Tobe Hooper, featuring a dynamic new 7.1 surround sound mix and never-before-seen outtakes!
