It’s a BLAST FROM THE PAST with the Fisher-Price adventure people. Made by Phil Postma: “Some of you might remember these from your childhood but probably don’t remember them being so bloody gory. That is my fault, this mash-up just popped into my brain one afternoon and I just had to make them. It is a literally my youth mashed together with toys I have played with as a kid and my love of the horror movies from teen years.”
“I also chopped up some Backgrounds from “Scoody-doo: Mystery Incorporated” and put them in the illustration to make my drawings look better since My BG skills are lacking. And before anybody asks, they are done entirely in Photoshop and are not real custom figures.”
NECA has given us a closer look at their A Nightmare on Elm Street 30th Anniversary “Ultimate Freddy” tribute figure honoring 30 years of dream-stalking terror! The 30th Anniversary “Ultimate Freddy” features:
Three new interchangable head portraits (closed mouth, open mouth grimace, and skull face)
All new fully articulated legs (ball-hinged thighs and knees)
Alternate severed fingers left hand, Removable fedora, New tongue phone and New dead skin mask
The newest assortment of Universal Monsters action figures is out now at Toys”R”Us and is coming soon to comic shops and specialty stores, as well as an all-new figure of the greatest monster hunter of all time.
Frankenstein’s Monster as he appears in Son of Frankenstein, and a super-poseable version of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Both feature entirely new sculpts by Jean St. Jean, and both come packaged on a blister card with a small display base. Additionally, the Monster comes with the prosthetic arm of Inspector Krogh.
As a bonus, hanging alongside the Creature and Monster is Diamond Select Toys’ original take on the famous monster hunter, Van Helsing. Also sculpted by St. Jean, Van Helsing stands around 7 inches tall, and comes armed with an axe, a sword, a crossbow and a rifle, all of which can be carried on his back. Definitely not based on Van Helsing as portrayed by Edward Van Sloan in the 1930’s Universal classics… Now make a Hammer series and give us Peter Cushing, by far the best Van Helsing.
In 1988, the crime rate in the United States rises four hundred percent. The once great city of New York becomes the one maximum security prison for the entire country. A fifty-foot containment wall is erected along the New Jersey shoreline, across the Harlem River, and down along the Brooklyn shoreline. It completely surrounds Manhattan Island. All bridges and waterways are mined. The United States Police Force, like an army, is encamped around the island. There are no guards inside the prison, only prisoners and the worlds they have made. The rules are simple: once you go in, you don’t come out.
But wait…The President of the United States has been involved in a plane crash that has left him in the treacherous prison! This sounds like a job for…SNAKE PLISSKEN!
Look for these to be released in August 2014. Available HERE

Another review by my 5 and a half year old son. “Transformers is about giant robots; good robots fighting bad robots. The good robots are Autobots, the best ones are called Optimus Prime and Bumblebee; the bad robots are called Decepticons, the really bad ones are Megatron and Sentinel Prime. It’s about soldiers fighting the bad robots. Sam is Bumblebees best friend; Sam helps the Autobots to fight the Decepticons. There is a lot of fighting and it is fun and I liked it and the fighting parts were really loud and I thought it was too scary in the loud parts. And I saw a little kid in the movies and he looked scared. But it was good.”
4 out of 5 stars
I was concerned when he gave this 4 stars, however when I asked him to rate in order what were his favourite movies of the last few months he came up with the following list:
Thor
X-Men
Pirates
Super 8
Transformers
He really struggled to explain what the movie was about when he dictated his review on Sunday afternoon. He struggled to say anything other than “It was about robots fighting robots”; that pretty much nails the entire 2½ hour running time.
A mate just sent me info on this, can’t believe I hadn’t seen it before as it was released in October 2010… NECA’s Regan Possessed Deluxe Boxed Set, based on the iconic scene from 1973’s The Exorcist movie! The bed is over 7″ long, almost 6″ across and over 5″ tall, and Regan herself is articulated at the neck, shoulders, and forearms! And if that’s not enough, motorized action allows the head to rotate 360 degrees timed in sync with the actual movie scene! Presented in window box packaging, the Possessed Regan Electronic Deluxe Boxed Set, encompassing the demonically-possessed Regan and the bed to which she was restrained, features motorized 360-degree spinning head function along with the various growls and demonic grunts from the movie.
Also released this July 2011 is the Regan Bobblehead. Awesome.
