Not only dose Cunningham share information about how the franchise (originally not intending to be one) was formulated, but he shares some keen wisdom on filmmaking as well. For instance, he shares a story about when he first screened Friday the 13th for Wes Craven and was told that it was boring and slow. However, when he screened the final cut with all the audio, music, and sound effects added, reactions completely changed. Cunningham expresses how large of an impact the right soundtrack can make on how your viewers respond to your film emotionally.

Backmask – Opening Titles – NSFW

Director Marcus Nispel’s slasher Backmask stars Gage Golightly, Michael Ormsby, Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Brett Dier, Nick Nicotera, Nick Nordella and Brittany Curran. The opening title shave been posted online by designersBaird Design.

“During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message….and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.“

Summer Camp – The Slasher Game

You want Friday the 13th: The Videogame?, well Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp is basically that as it follows a gaggle of horny teen counselors who find themselves being hunted by some woods-dwelling psychopath, that would be you!

If you have the nagging feeling you’ve heard of this game before, you’re probably thinking about Splatter Camp, the other teen murder simulator from Babysitter Bloodbath (formerly Halloween) developer Pig Farmer Games. This isn’t Splatter Camp, this is Summer Camp.

Fisher Price Slasher Toys

008-LEATHERFACE-FISHER-PRICE_ADVENTURE_PEOPLE009-LEATHERFACE_VICTIM-FISHER-PRICE_ADVENTURE_PEOPLEIt’s a BLAST FROM THE PAST with the Fisher-Price adventure people. Made by Phil Postma: “Some of you might remember these from your childhood but probably don’t remember them being so bloody gory. That is my fault, this mash-up just popped into my brain one afternoon and I just had to make them. It is a literally my youth mashed together with toys I have played with as a kid and my love of the horror movies from teen years.”

“I also chopped up some Backgrounds from “Scoody-doo: Mystery Incorporated” and put them in the illustration to make my drawings look better since My BG skills are lacking. And before anybody asks, they are done entirely in Photoshop and are not real custom figures.”
